“Strategies for Seed Saving for the Nimbin Bioregion” – presented by Julia DesBrosses & the ABC’s Costa.
This is a participatory workshop focussing on developing strategies and actions to secure our own local seed supply.
Possibilities we’ll explore might be; “Could each community develop its own seed bank”?
“Are there farmer’s who could make some land available for seed saving”? Participant’s ideas on what they can offer will also be crucial. We’ll aim to prioritise a set of actions to implement locally.
Julia will also share some of her experiences working with the ‘landless farmers’ movements and indigenous cultures of South America, India and Australia where she’s worked on establishing Fair Trade co-operatives and local seed exchange networks
This workshop is the local launch of the international “Call to Action for Seed, Food and Earth Democracy” running from 20th Sept to 20th Oct
