Accusing multinational companies of destroying India’s seed sovereignty by violating Indian Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) laws, environmentalist Dr Vandana Shiva on Wednesday wrote to parliamentarians from mustard growing states cautioning them against commercialisation of Genetically Modified (GM) mustard.
Besides writing to MPs from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, West Bengal, Assam and Madhya Pradesh among others, Shiva earlier in September wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modiseeking his intervention in the matter.
