Future Opportunities and Challenges
Berlin, May 6 – 8 2015
Ten years after our first conference in Berlin we proudly invite you to the 8th European Conference of GMO-Free Regions, jointly organised with the Network of GMO-Free Regional Governments, Danube Soya and the ENSSER science network.
“Our Land, our Future, our Europe -The regions of Europe have the right to determine their own ways of farming, eating, producing and selling food and of protecting their environment and landscapes, their culture and heritage, their seed, their rural development, their economic future. This includes the right to decide about the use of genetically modified plants and animals in their agriculture and ecosystems,” starts the Berlin Manifesto 2005 adopted by 190 participants of the first European GMO-FREE Regions Conference in January 2005.Ten years later, NGOs and scientists, 64 regional governments and the business association “Danube Soya” jointly organize the Conference GMO-FREE EUROPE Future Opportunities and Challenges.
We are proud to host this 10th anniversary conference again in Berlin and we are looking forward to a lively exchange of information and experience, a strong declaration of all three pillars of the movement against GMOs in agriculture and food. We are looking forward to see old friends and to meet new and fresh activists and partners in science, policy, institutions, companies and administrations. We will celebrate the success we had over the past decade and we are concerned about recent political developments that may challenge them. We are committed to continue our fight for our GMO-free, sustainable European food, agriculture and countrysides.
