Write Your Roots is an all-volunteer project that invites community members to write and perform original monologues about their relationship with food. The purpose of the project is to celebrate food passions and traditions, build community bonds across difference, and promote local food initiatives toward a more just and sustainable food future. This performance was originally rehearsed to be performed live at Etnias Global Theater in March 2020. Because of Covid-19, we postponed that production and then regrouped, deciding to produce a video version of our work. If you appreciate our work, please make a donation to Rhode Island Food Bank at rifoodbank.org.
