In October 2017, commemorating World Food Day, Navdanya and JAGA Indonesia are holding a joint event in collaboration with local partners. Continuing the mobilization which started in 2014 when Dr. Vandana Shiva visited Indonesia and in 2015, when eleven people from Indonesia attended the “A to Z of Agroecology and Organic Food Systems” course at Navdanya Earth University, this year we are co-organizing a series of events, “Celebrating Seed Freedom & Agroecology”, in the three cities: Jember (October 28th-29th, 2017), Jogjakarta (October 31st, 2017) and Bali (November 4th, 2017).
Navdanya’s Farmers’ Training Co-ordinator Darwan Singh Negi, and Ruchi Shroff – Director of Navdanya International – are holding practical training workshops and dialogues with farmers, policy makers and citizens for a transition towards an agroecological food system for food sovereignty, nutrition, climate resilience and economic security.
