On Oct. 18th, the Last Organic Oupost in partnership with Central City Co-op will host a fundraising heritage dinner to seed our next season and further our food sovereignity efforts. Last Organic Outpost is seeking to preserve valuable opportunities for urban farming on fertile lands in Houston’s food deserts by forming an Agricutural District if Fifth Ward. We host events like this to educate young and old on the origins of their food and its cultural and nutritional importance.
While this night’s dinner is a gourmet function, we consistently host other events throughout the month where residents of this community regardless of income can come get food, learn to grow and prepare farm fresh food that is free of pesticides and other alterations. Help us to bring farming back to neighborhoods and make it the center of community that it once was. Join us for dinner or buy a ticket and sponsor someone less fortunate with the gift of dignity and perhaps a new career as a farmer.
Donate what you can to join the ‘Farmhood’ and be an advocate for bringing cultural and professional knowledge of farming to every neighorhood. Join us on Facebook. Come visit any day of the week 9am-4pm. We appreciate donations of all forms – seed, tools, time and smiles.
We are located at 711 N Emile St, Houston, TX 77020. Phone: 832-422-8407
